I recently had to put my dearest dog to sleep. He was a gentle giant (Part Rotweiller and part St. Bernard and weighed 180 lbs.). He had a cancerous tumor in his gut and there was nothing to be done. I love the gentle giants and will someday have a Great Dane. I will need time to heal from my loss. Thanks for listening.

Sabrina, I'm so glad you did put "How could You" on your site. I'm glad I sent it to you. I have another really good one that makes us animal lovers really think about our actions towards them. I'll see if I can find it somewhere. I save all the good stuff even it they are tear jerkers.
Have you sold all the puppies yet? I haven't seen any current pictures so I bet you did. They were sure pretty puppies. Hank is doing great on the dog food you told me about. It is working as well as the Science Diet JD. Thank you.
Take care and kiss all the doggies for me.

I am glad that you liked it, I cry every time I read it also, and I am the one that put it there! lol. I miss our Canin and Mia so much, I don't know how anyone would willingly "get rid" of one of theirs. I feel for your pain, I couldn't imagine losing two at that close of a space in time. Ours were 2 yrs apart. and that was close enough for me. Here is another one, for you, I hope you can see it, I am not sure if you will be back or not... Let me know if you do get to read it, .....

Heaven's Doggy Door
Author Unknown

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head lay in my hand.
The doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms,
Were of his younger Canine years,
And Oh... his many charms.
Today there was no gentle nudge,
With an intense "I love you" gaze.
Only a heart that's filled with tears,
Remembering our joy-filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And said, "You should cry no more,
God also loves our canine friends,
He's installed a doggy door!"

I'm having trouble after reading How Could You? Through the tears. My story is different I lost my 2 danes at about 10 years of age, they were brother and sister my big boy went first after developing cancer, Tyra went shortly after, how could they. They slept with us every night, everywhere we went, as they grew so did our car. I teach and train and we hit shows in Obedience, we all had fun. It's taken a few years before I could even look at them but i think I'm almost there. So I'm going to take a look. thank you so much

Love your Danes. I have a Harliquin male that will be 2 in June. He is wonderful. I had never owned a dane until Hank. I always will now. I will be looking for another one in a year or so. I'm putting you in my favorits. Thank you for the wonderful pictures.
